Information posted on behalf of Crawley Borough Council

Consultation: Conservation Areas and Locally Listed Buildings – 5 February to 31 March 2021

We are undertaking a consultation regarding Crawley’s heritage and are keen to hear your views.

We are proposing changes to Crawley’s Conservation Areas and Locally Listed Buildings, which will have an influence on future planning decisions.

For Conservation Areas we are proposing the following changes:

  • The creation of two new Conservation Areas at Queens Square and The Broadway and Gossops Green Neighbourhood Centre;
  • Changes to the boundaries of the Brighton Road, High Street, and St Peter’s Conservation Areas.

In addition we are proposing to make changes to our Locally Listed Buildings, as part of an updated Local Heritage List:

  • Inclusion of around 60 additional buildings;
  • Removal of two buildings currently on the list.
