Former Chairman – Roy Billis

It is with great sadness that I inform you that Roy Billis Former Chairman of the Pound Hill North Residents Association passed away on Friday 19th January 2018.

Roy was instrumental in setting up the Residents’ Association in 1998, which was in response to the County Council’s proposal to introduce a controlled parking zone (CPZ) in the Park Way area

He served as both Chairman and Secretary of the Association and was very active until standing down at the end of 2005 during the campaign against the Gas Holder travellers’ site proposal.

Roy was passionate about the local community, he was relentless pursuing issues and this was combined with a no-nonsense approach.

Roy worked for many years in Fleet Street as a graphic designer, he designed the PH(N)RA logo which is still in use today.

Plain PH(N)RA Logo

On behalf of the Association I would like to pass on our condolences to Roy’s family at this sad time.

Kevan McCarthy
Chairman PH(N)RA
